In this weeks best idea ever category, we have Best Buy’s Video Game Vending Machines. Currently they are rolling them out in airports and because of that it would appear they are only stocking DS and PSP games.

Even so, I think its a great idea to allow people to pick up a game before a long flight for their handheld console, and honestly think the idea should move on to even gaming consoles.

Spotted at Atlanta International Airport, these Best Buy Express vending machines offer a wide variety of electronics for travelers, including digital cameras and headphones. The most interesting thing to us over here at OT? The inclusion of a DS system, as well as a number of games. This particular machine featured the likes of Guitar Hero: On Tour, Mario Kart DS, Brain Age 2, and LEGO Batman.

Better yet, they seem to be selling them for retail prices! Unfortunately I suspect it’ll be a while before we see these in South Africa with the gaming scene being all of about 0.1% of the American market. Never-the-less – this is the epic idea of the week.
