BlackBerry or iPhone

Source: WikipediaLast weekend one of the worst things that can happen to someone happened to me - I lost my phone. I don’t know what I did with it, but it’s gone. Luckily I have a spare sim card that is linked to my main number so I am not in a panic to call my provider and get all that nonsense sorted out. The biggest pain is that I lost all my contacts, and the handset itself. I am now using a Sony Ericsson M600i, the one I lost was a K800i. After using this phone for just under a week I now know that I want my new phone to be smart.
Being able to sync calendars, download emails and have a qwerty keyboard at my finger tips has convinced me that I need a newer phone like this. The iPhone is not easily available in South Africa, but you can get them if you know where to look. The Blackberry range on the other hand is available from most cellular providers and being on contract, I could probably get one when my contract is up for upgrade in 2 months.
I have read a few articles, the latest being BlackBerry vs. iPhone but am still undecided. Now Engadget Mobile has put up some pics of the BlackBerry 9000 and I am back at square one. Most of the smartphones out there today do pretty much the same thing, it just comes down to the extras (3G, WiFi etc.) that help someone decide on what to get - oh and don’t forget the style of the handset.
Now comes the part where I am hoping some readers can point me in the right direction. I don’t know anyone who has either a BlackBerry or an iPhone, so if you guys own either, I just want to know what made you buy it.
