We often write about search engine optimization for bloggers here, and something we always mention when talking about PageRank or any search engine technology really are BackLinks (BL).
Search engines consider links to your blog to be one of the most valuable ways of telling your authority for a certain term. If you are talking about “computer hardware” and people link to you with that phrase, or similar phrases, engines will consider you to be authoritive for that topic and send users your way when they are interested in finding out about it.
For this reason, post-sensitive back links are the very best. Let me explain, most people swap links with other bloggers and get on Blogroll’s etc – for example we might be on a blogroll as “Entropy”. Unfortunately, that has nothing to do with any of our posts and even if you do have a specific blog name it can’t possibly be specific to every single one of your posts.
Now if someone was to link to this actual post, instead of the front page, and to say “Build Backlinks to your Blog” in the link it would be very valuable! It would be even more valuable if it was from a site about the topic!
Enter LinkLaunder – a free web service for exchanging links among bloggers with a plugin for WordPress. LinkLaunder automatically puts your links onto related blogs and does it with intelligence, for example our first backlink is from a funny jokes site and its too a post of ours about funny nintendo posters; with that as the link! Perfect!
Over time as you give links you get links across the member blogs, and its all automatic. They have a stats page where you can see the links and its not javascript so it does count with the search engines!
Go sign up at Link Launder and then install the WordPress plugin. After that enter your username/password and you’ll begin to trade!

LinkLaunder? I never tried it, but maybe it’s worth trying and see how can it do for my blog. Thanks for the suggestion. :)

Ye we’re up to 5 links back to our posts already, in about a week.

Hi, I am glad you like it, we are working hard to make the links more relevant (there are problems sometimes, and the algorithm that finds relevant blogposts sometimes make some very weird suggestions sometimes).
We have some things planned for the full release that will knock your socks off! :-)

We’ve had great results so far – nothing too off topic :D

Here’s a few things I hope will be in the full release:
– The ability to “moderate” links. For example, you might not want a link to your blog to end up on a blog that talks about hardcore porn or something risque.
– The ability to view all inbound links from the member control panel and not just the latest one.
I’m sure you’ve already thought of these, but if you haven’t, I hope you’ll give them consideration.
Keep up the good work.

Hi docmoo
Thank you for your feedback, and you are totally right, these are some of the tings that I am working on. I have a huge backlog of different to-dos, and those are both on the list.
Initially I limited the listings for the free users, but people on the forum (the old one, I do not have the posts after changing to another forum) convinced me otherwise. There will be other benefits for pro users (once the ability is launched), so that functionality will be fully available as soon as I finish it.
p.s. I am subscribed to this post, thats the only reason why I saw you writing. I recommend going to linklaunder.com and posts suggestions there, otherwise I might not see them :-)
Thank you for your feedback, and thank you for trying out the system!!! :-)

So basically is automatically allocates links out to the blogs? This is totally against Googles TOS and will get your site penalised!
